С 21 по 27 июля 2024 года в Мадриде, Испания, проходил XX Международный ботанический конгресс. Изменения правил ботанической номенклатуры вступили в силу немедленно после принятия резолюции Секция номенклатуры на заключительном пленарном заседании Конгресса 27 июля 2024 года. Публикация нового Международного кодекса номенклатуры водорослей, грибов и растений или Мадридского кодекса планируется в середине 2025 года.

XXI Международный ботанический конгресс пройдет в Кейптауне, Южная Африка, с 21 по 28 июля 2029 года.

The 20th International Botanical Congress was held in Madrid, Spain, from July 21 to 27, 2024. The amended rules of botanical nomenclature became effective immediately upon acceptance of the resolution by the Nomenclature Section at the closing plenary session of the Congress on July 27, 2024. Publication of the new International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (Madrid Code) is expected in mid-2025.

The 21st International Botanical Congress will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, from July 21 to 28, 2029.
